The primary purpose of any information we collect is to provide you with a valuable and customized experience through the use of our service.
We may store your IP address to help identify technical issues with our service, and to prevent people from voting multiple times in the same poll.
In able to have full access to all the features of our service, including the ability to create a poll and post comments, a user needs to register and create an account. When creating an account, the user is required to enter basic personal and contact information. Your email address is not displayed publicly, nor is it shared with any third parties. All users must enter their date of birth before being approved for an account – diPoll does not knowingly collect any information from people under the age of 13. Votes cast in polls are stored to maintain consistent records, but will never be publicized or disclosed in a personally identifiable manner.
In order for our service to function properly on your computer, you may need to receive "cookies". Cookies are small files which help us to maintain your personalized experience as you navigate through different pages within our site. We do not force you to accept cookies, however rejecting them may prevent many of our features from working properly.
In order to bring you the highest quality and most relevant marketing initiatives, certain non-personally identifiable information may be disclosed for use by advertisers. There is NO information passed on to any third party advertiser that could be used to identify you personally. Examples of data that may be disclosed to serve you the most relevant advertisements are: browser type, operating system, geographic region, age/gender (if signed in), and voting choice in specially identified featured polls. If registered as a diPoll user, your account will have a profile which is publicly viewable to others. Information which may be shown in your profile includes but is not limited to age, gender, location, registration date, date of last activity on the website, and your five most recent votes on public polls.
We cooperate with any law enforcement inquiries in to the content of our web site, including any user submitted content. As such you authorize us to, at our sole discretion, disclose personal information to law enforcement agencies as we deem appropriate to comply with the law.
After registering to create an account, you may review any information you submitted to us by clicking "Account Settings" at the top right of the page when you are logged in. You may request your password or contact e-mail be changed at any time (histories of these changes may be stored for your security). At any time, you may also change personal information you provided us including but not limited to: name, location and preferences.
You are responsible for protecting your password. If you disclose this information to a third party, you are responsible for all actions taken that were enabled through the use of your log in information and password. You are therefore highly encouraged to NOT disclose your password to any third party, and to change your password if you believe your information may have been compromised.
